[ILL-L] ILL to Emeritus faculty?

Retired faculty have equal ILL rights as currently employed folks on our
campus. Their library accounts remain open as if they were actively
teaching faculty...they pick up books/videos/dvds here onsite; articles are
emailed as pdf's to their home email addresses. Retired staff use our
public libraries for ILL, but that's their personal preference...we would
have zero problems continuing ILL services for retired staff IF anyone
approached us about it.

Those whose contracts are no longer current for reasons other than
retirement are encouraged to utilize the ILL services of their public
library OR different employer. Same with alumni and public patrons who use
our on-site resources. I explain it this way: while we do not charge our
current faculty/staff/undergraduate & graduate students for ILL services, it
does cost us staff time & postage to process requests; enrolled
students' tuition understandably covers ILL services for those currently
serving our academic community. It helps to have some outstanding public
libraries nearby as a referral option.
