[ILL-L] ALA Chicago - STARS Hot Topics Discussion Group Topics

Hi Margaret,

Is this appropriate for the hot topics? Because postage has gone up so
much, we are more interested than ever in finding free ebook versions of
items our patrons want and delivering to them that way. How do we become
aware of groups of such material? For example, it was a shock to me when a
library down south told me their copy of an item was too fragile to send,
but instead aimed me at Cornell's Making of America collection and there it
was. Who knew? I've recently found The Online Books Page,
http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/, run by John Mark Ockerbloom. What
else is lurking out there on the net? How will the whole Google Books
settlement fit into things?
