[ILL-L] Posting electronic documents to web server

We haven't set ours up yet but I think I'm going to have to. It seems more cumbersome, a little, for patrons, but we get articles that other libraries have greyscaled, even though they are just text, and the files are too large to send over email, so we have to print them out and rescan them. So, we'd like to have this option for these large files.

Subject: [ILL-L] Posting electronic documents to web server

Hi everyone,

I know that some libraries will post electronic documents on a secure web server when they are ready for "pickup" vs. emailing those documents directly on to the patron. I've heard of a couple reasons for this practice, but I wanted to poll the group and hear firsthand why individual libraries are opting for this method. Please feel free to respond off-list if that suits you.

Thanks,
