We don't mark them complete until they're paid for, we leave notes explaining. Once complete they can end up in the archive also,

Subject: [ILL-L] Odd sort of question
When you get a book returned to your library in an almost destroyed state (with a note from the borrowing library saying to please invoice them for the book, and that the patron would like to keep the book once he has paid for it) do you go ahead and mark it complete in WRS or do you wait until you receive the payment for the book? Normally on lost books, I don't mark them complete until it is paid, but I've never had one returned like this before, so I'm not sure what is the proper procedure (personally it would be very nice if WRS had a way to mark things complete but as completed by having been paid for, to distinguish from those we actually got the item back on).
Thanks!
Alison
