[ILL-L] Foregoing bookstraps in favor of simply inserting paperworkinside books

VRU - University of Richmond - also puts the paperwork inside books we loan. But, we also put the ILL # on the date due slip in case a book is returned without the paperwork. Items we borrow have a book strap put on them. Patrons are fairly reliable about returning the books with the paperwork.

We put straps on borrowed books, but we just stopped putting stickers on loaned books in favor of paperwork inside. We use a piece of the Clio printout, it has the ILL number, and we stamp 'Please return with book' on it. We started in mid-December and have only gotten two books back without paperwork so far,

I would like to hear from libraries which insert ILL paperwork inside
borrowed books rather than attach a bookstrap to them. How does it work
for you? Do patrons for the MOST part return the paperwork? Any
problems?
