[ILL-L] Reasons for no - On Reserve

The committee/team/focus group believed that On reserve/On hold was -in
effect- the same as On loan. Plus- there is a different meaning for On
reserve in different situations. With academics- it' may be On reserve (
set aside by the professor for use by a class); with public libraries,
On reserve and On hold is used interchangeably. I'm with you; I would
find it helpful to know if a book is just checked out or that it would
be unavailable for an extended length of time. Otherwise, I might
request the item from the lender for the customer again in 3-4 weeks
with the same results. With ILLiad, we haven't "gone over" to the
official reasons for No and still use on hold as a reason.

Subject: [ILL-L] Reasons for no - On Reserve

Maybe this gripe has already been shared, but lately I've been annoyed
by the disappearance of "on reserve" as a Reason for No. Does anybody
know the rationale for taking it away? None of the existing options
really communicates the reason I can't send the item, but I've been
using "in use on loan" just because I hate to use "other." What are
other folks doing in this situation?
