[ILL-L] Have you suspended use of Ariel successfully (or unsuccessfully)?

We are a public library. We stopped using Ariel at least 3 years ago and obtain an up to date version of Adobe Acrobat. We send PDF via email to both our own patrons and to other libraries.
The only problem we had was getting other libraries to change their address books to reflect our email address instead of the ariel address.

We are considering suspending use of Ariel for borrowing and lending. Our Ariel computer is displaying the 'blue screen of death' for the 3rd time and may need the hard drive replaced so Ariel would need to be re-installed. Given that it took nearly 3 months last time to get it functioning (almost) properly and it still isn't supported by Infotrieve -because the scanner isn't compatible- I am pondering reinstalling the program at all. We use Odyssey for 2/3 of our requests and we have the capabilities to send articles via FTP. We currently average about 20 Ariels rec'd a day and 5 shipped.
I would like to hear from libraries that have suspended Ariel. What was your success? How did you do it?

Thanks.
