Dear List,
At my institution, we are instituting a new performance and evaluation system, so our job descriptions have to be revised, updated, rewritten, etc. Is there any kind of consensus out there in ILL Land about what to call the librarian who supervises or coordinates a library's interlibrary loan and document delivery services? But who also does bibliographic detective work and tracks down obscure and hard-to-find materials, not necessarily just to borrow but to know where they are located? Of course, reference librarians do this too. Interlibrary Loan Librarian, Interlibrary Loan Coordinator, Resource Sharing Librarian or Coordinator, Resource Sharing and Delivery Librarian? Seems to me that the term Resource Sharing encompasses more than just interlibrary loan and seems more the way to go, but.... Any thoughts?
