[ILL-L] GOING PAPERLESS

Dear List,
I have been attempting to go as paperless as possible. With article requests, I check our periodical holdings from each request in PENDING status, so if something is online I can go ahead and download it on my flash and then later import it into Ariel or Odyssey and send it. I can update to filled or unfilled on the fly and not have to print out the request. I only have to print the article requests that are from bound volumes or from microfilm.
With book requests, I've tried to copy/paste the call number from our catalog into the OCLC request (OCLC provides a link to our catalog within the request) but I haven't been able to make it work. Has anyone tried doing anything like this? As far as I can tell, you would need the Edit function available while you have the request displayed? Or am I missing something very simple?
