[ILL-L] Textbooks and ILL

Hello all,

We are noticing an uptick in the number of ILL requests for textbooks this semester. We are sympathetic to the economic crunch of the students, but worry that ILL is not the best solution, and dread the inevitable due dates of these materials mid-semester. Does anyone have policies re: ILL of textbooks that they could share? We have long had a policy of not purchasing classroom textbooks for the library collection, and are now realizing that we need to extend that policy to Interlibrary Loan. The primary concern is enforcing this policy, especially given the broad array of material that shows up on syllabi and reading lists. Any advice is appreciated.

Many Thanks!
