I think the important thing is that - assuming you own the article and
it's not a licensing of electronic issues problem - idea is that no more
than one copy is made, so one copy is sent, and soon thereafter the
scanned copy is deleted from Ariel, etc. (we wait a few weeks).

No one has ever been able to give me an actual citation to where it says
its ok under copyright to email articles either. It seems to me the
whole issue of changing formats would apply, but???

Hi All,
At our library, we have lately been getting a lot of requests to
email articles (after an ILL request has been filled) to patrons when
possible. I am wondering what some of you do/think about this? I've
looked at some copyright information and as best I can tell it is a grey
area, if not a violation of copyright law. Any specific information as
to legality or your practices would be greatly appreciated.
