[ILL-L] Lending New Materials

We lend pretty much anything except for reference, periodicals, and the very
few books set aside for our new books display area. I think what you'll find
generally is that academic libraries lend regardless of acquisition date,
while public libraries often don't lend books either acquired or published
(or both) within the most recent 6 to 12 months, as a way of allowing their
patrons first use.

Subject: [ILL-L] Lending New Materials

Hello All,

I am new to the world of ILL and would like to know what your policies are
regarding the lending of newly acquired materials. Do you lend new
materials? What do you consider new? Will you lend something considered new
if you are the borrowers last chance?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Best,

Sean
