Subject: [ILL-L] Homegrown Managment Systems?

We are a small community college library, requesting about 400 items annually, and lending out slightly more. Does anyone operating on a similar scale use a spreadsheet or database system as an alternative to a proprietary management system? If so, would you be able to provide a few details on how you created it and how you use it? I would very much appreciate it. You can reply off-list. Thanks!
