"Library Type" is a field in the Borrower/Lender Transaction-Level Detail Reports.

When I get this kind of request I talk directly to my Administrative contact, saying: " I don't have statistics in this format. I estimate it will take 3 hours to compile this information. Knowing that, do you still want the data?"
I mention this only because there is a plethora of surveys floating around these days, attempts to gather various data for vague purposes. My institution pretty much dismisses random surveys that arrive in the mail asking for our participation, especially if data requested doesn't already exist in a form easily gathered and reported.
I agree with others that using OCLC stats in a database manager program would come the closest to getting what you want although "type of library" isn't reflected there.

Admin forwarded a request for statistical and percentage/proportional data from the last fiscal year that they needed immediately- namely:
For Borrowing:
Loans filled by in-state libraries (number and percentage of whole)
Loans filled by out-of-state libraries (number and percentage of whole)
The types of libraries filling the loans (academic. public, school, special, other) (number and percentage of whole for each type)
For Lending:
For Borrowing:
Loans filled for in-state libraries (number and percentage of whole)
Loans filled for out-of-state libraries (number and percentage of whole)
The types of libraries requesting the loans (academic. public, school, special, other) (number and percentage of whole for each type)
I used ILLiad data for this because it includes ALA requests but I had to go through all 3960 records and assign state and library type designations and because ILLiad gave me the data for the whole year. It looked like OCLC only gave this information for a month at a time instead of for a time period.
Can any of you think of less labor-intensive way of getting this information together?
By the way- the resulting information was interesting and surprising in some cases. My eyes are still tying to recover.
