[ILL-L] Sensitizing ILL books

When I lend a book, I desensitize it. When it comes back, I sensitize it. I don't sensitize/desensitize books we borrow.

(I am a solo ILL operation. The ILL books may be checked out to patrons when I'm not around by student assistants, but I always handle the book before it goes on the ILL hold shelf and the student assistants give the returned ILL books directly to me--or put them on my shelf. I don't instruct them to sensitize/desensitize ILL books).

Our circulation department does desensitize books as they are checked
out, but they are not sensitized when they are returned. We do,
however, sensitize our own books when they are returned.

I also have no idea if our pages sensitizes those same items when they are returned (I really should inquire). I figure that our loaned items would come back desensitize so I give them to the pages and ask them to sensitize them (a little precaution never hurts).
