UW-Green Bay (GZW) has a setup to print from these cards. It's cumbersome and the quality could be better, but we can do it.

Thanks for the info. The patron paid money to borrow the card already so I am hoping he will not have to pay more to get a couple of copies. We'll see what charitable soul will come to his aid!

I remember that some years ago, someone on this listserv mentioned that they were one of (apparently) only twelve libraries in the country that had a machine to print from the Readex microopaque cards. Does anyone remember who sent that? (I don't.)
Back in the early 1980s, you could send a microprint card to Readex and they would print it for you at a charge. I don't know whether they still do that (Readex is still very much in business, but nowadays their materials are Web-based).
I remember from my graduate school days both the excitement of finding the wonderful stuff on those microprint cards, and the frustration of having to transcribe by hand because we couldn't print from them. (That's how I know Readex would print from them; I wrote them and they said they'd supply printouts if I sent them the card; but of course the library wouldn't let me check out the cards to send to Readex.)
Are you anywhere near Metropolis? I hear there's a mild-mannered reporter atthe Daily Planet who can read the microopaque cards without a machine.
Good luck,
Arthur Robinson (GLG)

Subject: [ILL-L] Readex Microprint Cards
Hi-
A library recently loaned us a Readex Microprint card. We have no way to print from this opaque card and neither does the lending library. Is there any library on the Trans-Amigos Express (preferably in the Houston area) that has a Readex Microprint reader/printer that would be willing to print two pages for us?
Thanks
