[ILL-L] RE: Discontinuing Use of ARIEL

As far as I know, Odyssey comes with ILLiad. The reason to keep Ariel
would be to continue to send articles to libraries without Odyssey (if
you don't want to just send via email),

This brings up an issue that I've been meaning to address:

I was under the impression (because I had read this somewhere) that when
using ILLiad and subsequently, Odyssey, a library still needed to employ
Ariel. I thought at the time that this did not make sense and it
appears that this is simply not true. We do not use ILLiad or Odyssey,
so I do not have firsthand experience with this, but I would appreciate
it if someone would like to speak to this issue and explain whether this
is complete misinformation or if there was some truth in this, at least
in the past.

Thanks,

Nate

Good Morning,

We have discontinued using ARIEL for sending article requests. VRC will
discontinue use of ARIEL for receiving articles effective October 31,
2009. We are now delivering Odyssey (preferred) and email. Please
make sure that Odyssey and email addresses are accurate in the OCLC
policies directory.
