[ILL-L] Cost per hour

Keith,

If patrons are giving you actual research questions, i.e. "I need some
articles on Charles Darwin", can you refer them to Reference? If they
are giving you incorrect or incomplete citations, you could either
return them to the patrons or hold them for when you have time to do the
extra work. If you return or delay bad requests, be sure to include
that policy in your description of ILL service, or even send out a
general announcement of the change in policy. Folks may not read it,
but it should still cover you.

Are you talking about a service charge for all ILL requests, or about
charging for extra work associated with bad citations?

Hello ILL World

I have to do something to stem the tide of research requests. I am
getting asked more and more to do the research that faculty and students
could be doing.

What do you charge and what is your argument to do so?

Sounds easy, right?
