Hi guys:
Here is the email Judy sent me this morning, about the changes in ILL
policy/practices. As you can see, no surprises at this time, everything
that's been decided is according to my recommendations.
I have replied to Judy's email, to ask if this means we will continue
to absorb fees until we're ready to pass them on to patrons. (Originally
she had anticipated a period in which we'd only go to free lenders, and
not fill requests which required fees. I don't know yet if that's still
the plan or not. I'll let you know when she replies.)
So far, so good!
Patrick

Subject: ILL Changes in policy
Hi Patrick,
I hope we'll have time to review the budget recommendations this morning
at Management Council to see what we can proceed on. According to the
action plan, eliminating purchase requests for unpublished material is
not scheduled to take effect until July 1st. Passing on charges to
borrowers is scheduled for even later because it's tied up with charging
for overdues in the sense of developing cash handling procedures, etc.
The other recommendations you presented were accepted but not put on the
action plan. Let's talk about implementing these things when I get back
from vacation on the 11th. My brain is too full this week!
Thanks for your patience,
Judy
