Sharon,

Your state should have an ILL code that states this. If not the ALA
National ILL Code states this,
http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/rusa/resources/guidelines/interlibrary
.cfm. -- see Requesting Library Responsibilities.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [ILL-L] Lost book

Hi All,

A book we borrowed from another library never showed up. I requested and
was sent an invoice and sent it to the director to be paid. My
supervisor insists that this is not proper protocol. That we are not
responsible for the book since we never received it. I have seen it many
times on this listserv that borrowing libraries are responsible for the
book from the time it leaves their library until it is safely back in
that library. Where can I find this documentation?. I've looked on OCLC
resource sharing but haven't found what I'm looking for. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.
