Does anyone have a feel--or hard data--for how many patron requests for documents (papers, articles, reports) are ultimately not filled in a year? I see the Unfilled Request number in the stat reports from OCLC, but of course most of those requests are ultimately filled--I find the thing somewhere by calling the author, contacting the journal or the organization, whatever. I am bragging about my library's record for very few unfilleds in my "significant accomplishments" for the year, but I have nothing to which to compare. We have 2 this FY and have not given up on the latest one. I realize it is relative to number, type, etc.
