[ILL-L] a question while passing the time with OCLC still down

I've always sent lending overdues by fax and snail mail (to those with no
fax number). Do you find you get better response emailing to the borrowing
institution? I've emailed a few over the past year with mixed success.
Several were clearly ignored, but it's likely that patron would have ignored
fax and mail, too. At least with the fax I have the confirmation that it
truly went through, and can cite that if need be if/when we get to the lost
book billing stage. Certainly with ILLiad (just brought lending live July 1)
it will be easier to email than previously, but I still won't have any
confirmation of receipt.
Any & all opinions welcome.
