[ILL-L] A Friday "silly" question

No critters (except the aforementioned vermin in our old building) in
ILL. Birds get in. We had a kitten come in through the book drop at a
branch where I worked. It frightened one of the clerks the next morning
as she went to empty the book drop. She wasn't used to anything leaping
out from the bin. My very understanding supervisor let me pick up my
cat from the vet on my supper hour and keep it in the office until I
left work that night. I was given to understand that they had a nice
conversation. Someone delivered my latest kitten to me at work and it
'chilled' in the workroom until I left work that evening. Both animals
were in a carrier (or SUPPOSED to be-- staff visited them in each case).
Again- both in my pre-ILL days.
We do have some faux critters in ILL, though. There's a Halloween cat
that sings "Somebody's Watching Me", meows and hisses. There's a frog
that sings "I don't like spiders and snakes." There's a cut-out Count
Olaf that says "Where did you get that book?" But- gee- that's all
kinda normal for Interlibrary Loan, right?
RIGHT?

We have had birds, a kitten who I was bottle-feeding and came to work
with me every day for a few weeks, and a bat. The bat was actually easy
to catch - he was sleeping - but he clearly was not pleased with finding
himself outside moments later. This little guy was literally stomping
away, making noise the whole time, he even looked back at me over his
shoulder once. I don't speak bat, but I honestly felt like I was being
cursed out in bat-ese! :)
