[ILL-L] A Friday "silly" question

This has happened elsewhere. I'm pasting in from American Libraries, December 2000:
The Buck Stops Here <https://pe-mail.lagrange.edu/exchange/arobinson/Drafts/RE:%20[ILL-L]%20A%20Friday%20%22silly%22%20question.EML/1_text.htm#toc>
Not the Harry Truman kind, but a furry one--as in a male deer.
The critter crashed through the front window of the Madison (N. C.) Public Library a half hour before opening on October 24.
"There was a huge commotion and glass flying all over the children's room," one staffer told the October 25 Rockingham News and Record. "I thought' it was a truck."
The deer roamed up and down the aisles for about 15 minutes until he found his way out the way he had come in.
"We all felt so bad for the deer. He was so frightened," said one employee.
Again, from American Libraries, May 2001:
Bambi Goes Berserk @ the Library <https://pe-mail.lagrange.edu/exchange/arobinson/Drafts/RE:%20[ILL-L]%20A%20Friday%20%22silly%22%20question.EML/1_text.htm#toc>
A small deer caused $1,000 damage when it crashed through a plateglass window at the Elbert County (Ga.) library in Elberton February 22, ran around inside, and broke another window on its way out.
While the deer was in the building, it leaped over a patron studying at a table, kicked around the library's computers, and ran between the stacks in the back of the building.
On its way back to the front, the deer kicked a woman in the leg, then crashed through another pane of glass as it left the building, the Elberton Star and Examiner reported February 28.
Library Director Paula Bullock said patrons just waited quietly until the deer exited. "You could have heard a pin drop," she said.
I sympathize with this second deer. I too have wanted to kick computers.

At my old library, we had a deer run straight through a glass wall one Saturday afternoon. Luckily, the librarian on duty was cool-headed, and she and security were able to get it out without much more damage to the building or the animal.
