We ask that our customers submit renewal requests at least 3 working
days before the material is due- the customer's due date, not the
lending library's due date. We make books due a week before the real
due date to allow time for us to get the book back through internal
delivery from a branch and get it either mailed or into the state-wide
courier delivery.

Subject: adjusting due dates on borrowed books?
We request renewals of borrowed books the day after they come due,
that's when they come to our attention. Maybe we should move the due day
forward one - two days so that we request renewals before the due date?
-Would this be helpful to other libraries?
-Do other libraries move the due date forward to allow for mailing back
time?
Thanks for any suggestions,
