[ILL-L] Help -- NEED BY DATE with ILL form, ClioRequest, and OCLC

I noticed a few of our requests timed out because the patron put in a short time for a need by date. So, on the OCLC ILL form in WorldCat, I made the need by date field hidden. Now they get the need by date from the OCLC constant data records. If it goes from email to ClioRequest to OCLC - we don't have a need by date, only a note field. We get things as quickly as we can, so I took it out. It seems to carry over from the information in ClioRequest constant data, or from the OCLC constant data, Ed.

Subject: [ILL-L] Help -- NEED BY DATE with ILL form, ClioRequest, and OCLC
Hello!
Sorry for cross posting!
EBSCOhost was kind enough to create a generic online ILL request form for us. However, I have been having trouble this semester with the DATE NEEDED BY field and various applications overriding the patron's original need by date.
Last semester and this semester I've been having problems with the CJ majors requesting articles for next day delivery -- a little birdie (but not the profs?) told them that I could get articles within 24 hours. Even though this has supposedly been corrected, they are still doing three day, four day turnarounds.
Originally ClioRequest seemed to be overriding the patron's need by date, so I went to Options > OCLC Service Information and I took out the OCLC Default Need By Date.
However, when I uploaded the request to the OCLC Review File and then applied a Constant Data record, the CD default Need By Date overrode, the patron's Need By Date. So I went into all my CD records and deleted the default Need By Dates.
Now, however, the blank CD Need By Date is setting the patron's Need By Date to zero and if I forget to check it and change it back, my new borrowing requests are all timing out to unfilled on the same day they are made.
Does anyone know how I can set this up so that the Patron's Need By Date remains constant as the request goes from e-mail to ClioRequest to OCLC and the Review file?
Thanks for any help you can give.
