Please keep us posted and update the OCLC policies directory in terms of policies - it's probably good for us, we'll be able to borrow more items, Ed.

Subject: [ILL-L] BNY and NYP to merge
***Please pardon the cross posting.***
The New York Public Library is going through a transformative time. We are
closing the divide between the research libraries and the circulating
libraries and becoming One NYPL.
As part of the process of bringing together the library, we are merging our
OCLC symbols sometime in the Spring of 2009.
While you can imagine we have been brainstorming all the effects this will
have, and have been working closely with our regional service providers, I
am curious about how this will effect ILL.
Any comments, concerns, and even encouragement <grin> at this point is
welcome.
We want to remain an asset to the library community and I am sure there are
implications that I have not even begun to consider. A formal announcement
will be made down the road, but I value any input.
Thank you,
Matthew
