I kind of did that, just timed how long it took to do each task, I measured ten books. It's OK for measuring processing, but orders, etc. can vary a lot in time required, Ed.

Subject: [ILL-L] times estimate for ILL procedures
Hello everyone,
I work in a small public library and I order and fulfill all our interlibrary loan requests from our patrons and other libraries. 2 of my colleagues physically process all the ILL items and they arrive and are sent back to their libraries.
My library director wants to get estimates of the time it takes for each ILL procedure. She is wondering if there are procedure estimates that other libraries use to plan how many staff hours to devote to ILL. Does anyone have a system to establish these estimates or know where I can find such estimates? I'd appreciate any help and any resources that anyone can suggest. You are welcome to reply off-post.
Thanks for your help,
Heidi K. Lewis
