I guess we would send the chapters on separate orders and assume the
borrowing library was handling copyright fees, Ed.

Subject: [ILL-L] Question -- Multiple Chapters from One Book?
Lately, we've been receiving requests for 3 chapters from a book for the
same patrons. It is starting to seem very much like patrons wanting to
get an entire books copied. I was wondering if this is some new
trend--and libraries are splitting up requests for patrons trying to get
an entire books copied or if it is just some kind of coincidence. We
actually contacted one library who said it was for a remote patron and
didn't want the actual book.
If others of you are noticing this trend -- how are you handling it?
We've been sending conditionals saying we will send the entire book and
the borrowing library can make copies if they want, or copy one chapter
and send the additional requests on. I know there are many issues,
especially for students not wanting to spend the exorbitant prices to
purchase books for one semester.
Hope this hasn't been addressed lately and I've missed it.....just
wondering...
Thanks,
