Head of Public Access Services
 
Portland State University is seeking a progressive and energetic
professional for the position of Head of Public Access Services, a
full-time, 12-month, tenure-track librarian position with the rank of
Assistant Professor. The Head of Public Access Services supervises 10
full-time staff members and provides leadership and management of Public
Access Services (PAS) activities including circulation, Summit and
interlibrary loan resource sharing, reserves, off-site facilities
operations, stacks maintenance, media services, copy services including
photocopy and microforms operations, and van service to/from more than one
library location. This position reports to the Assistant University
Librarian for Public Services, contributes to the profession through
professional service and scholarly activities, and participates in faculty
governance activities within the Library and University.

Required Qualifications:  An ALA-accredited MLS or its equivalent; five
years of library-related experience; strong service orientation; successful
supervisory experience; evidence of excellent planning, organizational, and
interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to complete
projects.
