We create a patron record for each borrowing library in our local circulation system and then charge out the book as usual, Ed.

Subject: [ILL-L] borrowing requests from other libraries

Hi folks, I am reorganizing the ILL department and I would like suggestions on how other departments handle their incoming requests from other libraries. Right now, in order to track material requested by other libraries we create a post card with their name and address and then attach a bar code and check out our material to them. It is then tracked by our library system (Voyager). The problem is we end up with hundreds of these cards and a lot of the time we have only used them once. We also don't have control of the overdue notices. I know there is a better way - any suggestions?
