Answers to your questions
Heather, does this mean each customer can see, but no one else can? IE:
no one can go into their account to see what they have checked out?
Customers log-on to their ILLiad accounts through the Customer Interface
using their library card numbers as their username and a PIN/password of
their own choosing. They can not only place new requests and see what
they have checked out, but can also view:
*
the status of outstanding requests
*
the list of cancelled requests
*
the list of requests received in the past
They can also change their contact information and password through the
Interface.
ILL staff who have access to the ILLiad software can look up this
information using the software in a different format. I can't -for
example- look up a customer's record using the Customer Interface
because I don't have access to the customer's PIN. I can look at the
record using the ILLiad software in the ILL area- and -since I have to
log-in using my ID and password- ILLiad can track any changes I make.
For example, if I process a renewal request for a customer, that will
show up in the tracking record. Only the ILL staff, my supervisor, and
the ILS staff member that makes changes to the library's web site have
access to this software.

ILLiad (through its Customer Interface) allows customers to see what
they've requested in the past. Our customers (especially researchers and
genealogists) like this because it gives them a list of sources they've
already requested and checked. There's also a mechanism in place for
re-resubmitting requests for cancelled items without having to re-type
all the request info.

Please forgive me if this has been asked before (feel free to let me
know if it has!) but how long do you save any information in Clio/etc
regarding patron information and requests?
I know in our regular library system, information on patrons have
checked out are never saved.
I know OCLC deletes this information automatically after transactions
are complete, but I'm wondering about those of us who use other systems
that do not automatically do this. (random question: does Illiad do
this?)
Also, do you also delete all patron info from lending requests as well?
I hesitated posting this question because it probably sounds really
basic.
