Joanne:
We're an LVIS library as well but lend to a lot of libraries who charge
us and many who are not open to reciprocal arrangements. I've wondered
how the 'we charge what you charge' policies work. When you get a
Lending request, will you look up the library, see what they charge,
conditional it with their charges, invoice them when you lend the book,
and continue billing if they don't send a payment? If the book is lost
or damaged during the loan, would you charge the price of the book, plus
the lending fee, and any processing fee?

Subject: [ILL-L] Policy change for Western Connecticut State University
- CTD
(please excuse cross-postings)
Hi Everyone,
Starting with the new fiscal year, July 1, 2008, CTD (Western
Connecticut State University) will begin charging libraries which charge
us. We will remain an LVIS library and will continue to supply those
with whom we have reciprocal agreements and other long-standing free
arrangements. We will also be glad to establish new reciprocal
agreements with those who might be interested.
We've updated our policy directory entry to reflect this change. If
there are any questions, please email us at ill at wcsu.edu, or telephone
us at 203-837-9114.
