Pat,

I don't see Mary's email address on here, so post my response if you
wish.

We haven't really had compatibility issues with software and scanners
for either software that I am aware of, although that is really a
systems issue. I have talked to at least one person that was having
compatibility issues with Ariel 4.1 and their PS 7000 overhead scanner.
We use a Minolta PS 7000 overhead scanner and two Fujitsu fi-4340C
flatbeds.

We mostly use Ariel because, although I like Odyssey better, it is
slower than Ariel because it must initiate the scanner for each page
that you scan. It takes Odyssey about 15 seconds from the time you push
the button until the scanner starts moving. That's time we just don't
have to spare. So, we only use Odyssey if a library does not have
Ariel. Also, there are many more Ariel users than Odyssey users out in
the library world. Although, I think Odyssey use is increasing and it
beats the pants off of faxing or mail. J Just my 2 cents. -MJ

Answer if you want to. But even if you don't reply to Mary, what

would your answers be?

I would like some feedback from libraries that use ariel and odyssey.
We use ariel and I am satisfied with it but.... It seems to be a problem
to find scanners that are compatible with the software. Is it the same
way with odyssey? Which do most of you prefer, ariel or oddyssey?
Also, what are some of the scanners that you have found to use with
ariel?

Thank you,
