[ILL-L] providing access to e-books

Our e-book contract specifically prohibits our making e-books available for
ILL.  We'd love to be able to do this but haven't been able to negotiate it
with our provider.

Hurricane Rita caused our Library to be closed 4 months in 2005 into 2006.
In response, the Library has purchased more than 60,000 electronic books.

 

Currently we have a deflection on loans of e-book format.

 

 

What if we were to provide access to e-books owned by LHA? Maybe send a
temporary username and password for access?

 

 

Is anyone doing this?
