[ILL-L] Indicating Lost Books

A notes field or a Problem status would come in handy, wouldn't it? The
whole process of lost or damaged books puts the transaction into a limbo
state. I'm sure our Diligent OCLC Doftware Developers who may be -at
this very moment- be lurking on this listserv are hard at work on a
solution. Right, DOSDs?

Subject: [ILL-L] Indicating Lost Books

I was wondering how all of you indicate books that are "lost" by your
patron. When a patron tells me that a book is lost I call the lending
library to inform them and ask for a bill. What I can't figure out is
how to then mark that record in our ILL management system (CLIO or WRS)
to indicate that the item is lost. Returned doesn't seem to fit the
bill. I don't have "Complete" as an option on a borrowed item. Is
there some trick I'm missing here?
