[ILL-L] Green interlibrary loan practices?

If I have to print or copy something prior to ILLing (whether for licensing
compliance or because of shadowing/guttering issues) I simply send the
copies rather than scanning. Several of our contracts specify that we can
send via Ariel or Odyssey but must print the item first - I've never
understood those!

I assume that when a license says to print and send it means to have it
remain in hard copy. Once it is scanned it can be shared electronically and
that is what I believe the owner wishes to prevent. We print and sent hard
copy when this requirement is seen. Corinne Nyquist, SUNY New Paltz
