Meg, why don't you send a copy of this email (or an explanatory note to the same effect) with the book. You might want to contact the owning library first to let them know the item is on its way home.

Hello,
When I went on a search and rescue mission this afternoon in a
professor's office, I found a title that I had recalled (a while ago)
and the professor had (then and several times since then) been unable to
find. I was delighted!
When I came back to process the return, I noted that the transaction has
been moved by OCLC to the status of a "Completed" transaction, even
though it was as "borrower overdue."
Do any of you who have more knowledge/experience with WRS have any
suggestions about the proper/best way I should return this title to the
lending library? Is it possible to change the status on WRS?
Thank you in advance for your advice.
Meg
