[ILL-L] Borrowing multiple copies for a class

We don't do it if it is on a required reading list. Too many students
in each class would request the same book at the same time. Many
students would love to use ILL instead of purchasing required books.
One new professor told his students that they could get books through
ILL and we had about 120 students all request the same books. And, we
are not supposed to compete with the bookstore. We get the list from
the bookstore each semester and try to check it. When requests do slip
through, students almost always try to keep it all semester even though
our overdue fines for ILL are not limited and are $1/day.

Subject: [ILL-L] Borrowing multiple copies for a class

I would like to hear people's perception of borrowing multiple copies of
a fiction title for an academic course.

Do some people practice this?

What about copyright concerns?

Thanks,

Trish
