Assistant Interlibrary Loan Librarian The Thomas Cooper Library seeks a dynamic, service-oriented librarian who will provide interlibrary loan (ILL) assistance to the library’s constituents.  Duties include delivering service in a busy interlibrary loan department comprised of ILL Borrowing, document delivery, and ILL Lending; assisting the Head of Interlibrary Loan with setting department goals; developing and recommending procedures; serving as liaison to other University of South Carolina library ILL departments.  Duties may include service at a reference desk; selecting library materials for one or more subject areas and serving as a liaison for departments in these areas. The University of South Carolina, founded in 1801, enrolls approximately 18,000 undergraduate students and 8,000 graduate students on the Columbia campus. University Libraries contains more than 3 million volumes, 4 million microforms, 1 million manuscripts, 300,000 maps, and 875,427 government documents; and houses the University’s special collections. University Libraries is a member of SOLINET, OCLC, the Association of Research Libraries, and the Center for Research Libraries. Qualifications:   Required:  Master’s degree awarded from an ALA-accredited library school; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work successfully with colleagues; experience with internet and online searching; experience with the OCLC Resource Sharing system; experience with ILL practices, ILL codes, and OCLC ILLiad; working knowledge of federal copyright law; at least 1 year interlibrary loan experience; computer literacy/proficiency. Desirable:  Experience with III Millennium; bibliographic knowledge of a language other than English. Salary is $34,000 minimum for 12 months.  Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
