Apologies for cross-posting.

This should have been a Friday afternoon rant, but I didn't have the time.

On January 15, 2008, our university IT changed the ariel ip for the pcs in
the ILL Office - 192.251.103.243. This meant a new ariel ip for receiving
Ariel transmission. We also had a change last May with new equipment.

I changed the OCLC policies directory, changed constant data information on
our request forms, posted on Ariel-L, ILLiad and ILL-L listservs. I even
emailed some of our regular lenders.

A month later, I am emailing 2-4 libraries per day that ariel transmissions
are not being received. The consistent reply is that the ariel ip in my
resend request is not the one on file. This has been the daily routine for 2
weeks now.

I appreciate seeing emails on the listservs of changes in ariel ip. We
change the ILLiad and Ariel systems. We also check accuracy of this
information on every copy request received.

What else can be done to get these changes to the right folks? It is a
waste of my time and other libraries staff to resend.

I have started to add the ariel ip after the journal title on the OCLC
article requests in the hope that it is seen.

Thanks for letting me rant.
