Whenever someone requests more than one article on one request (which
is what I assume you're referring to), I cancel the request (we have
ILLiad) and tell them that due to copyright restrictions, we require
that each article be requested separately. Even if it doesn't fall
in the copyright years, the patron doesn't know that. ;-) Apologies
if I'm mis-understanding what you're asking.
As for it being a copyright problem, the example given below wouldn't
count, since it's from 13 years ago. But even if it were from the
current 5 years, we would get it (and pay any relevant fees to CCC if
necessary). I've actually had faculty request EVERY SINGLE issue
from a current year's journal, and that's the only time I email them
to let them know that it will be a very expensive endeavor for the
library (this happened in January, in fact, and the ensuing copyright
fees were $450 just for this title. I had a small problem with that).
