[ILL-L] Responding No - not found as cited for book requests

ILLiad lets us revise or add to Reasons for Cancellation.  To remind my
staff what to do - I have a upper case note next to the cancellation
reasons about holdings and not as cited directing them to use a
conditional response instead.

Amen to that! This drives me crazy. I've emailed a few libraries who do
this, asking them please not to and explaining why it's a problem. Never
got a response from any of them.

	I am sending out this plea for libraries NOT to respond "NO -
not found as cited" to book requests.  If you do not own the book,
please respond "NO - not owned."  When you respond "NO - not found as
cited" the request is canceled and the borrowing library has to create a
new request.

	 

	This morning I had such a request from the first library in the
lending string.  If the library would have responded "NO - not owned,"
then the request would have gone to the next library in the lending
