IMHO: No.
But please DO include a printout of the request with the request ID in
barcode format (for scanning).
Due date clearly visible, too.

I notice that maybe half of the books we borrow don't have lending book
straps, we add a borrowing book strap to all books. Our books are well
stamped and identifiable, and when we lend them I assume the borrowing
library adds a borrowing book strap with the due date. Any reasons to
continue using lending book straps? Thanks, Ed.
