[ILL-L] ILL and Collection Development and requests for EB reports

I couldn't find a way to get the call numbers from either ILLiad or OCLC
reports, so I add the call number to the request record when received. When
receiving with non-LC classification (e.g. dewey), I look at the CIP. If
none there, I have the grad assistant search WorldCat when I've compiled the
semi-annual report to Collection Management on loan requests. I also do a
serials report for Serials, but don't include call numbers.

I recall from my early days of ILL being taught to write down the call
number on requests, in case the book is incorrectly shelved on our shelfs.
When I wanted to include call numbers to the report, I recalled that.

Regarding someone wanting to track ILL requests for books that the Library
has electronically, I note "e" in the location field on the request. Then I
can run reports.

Subject: [ILL-L] ILL and Collection Development

There has been interest in using ILL as a collection development tool. I
was asked if there is a way to collect call numbers, titles, and
authors of materials we borrow via ILL. I do a yearly report on the
journal titles that are reported on CCC but has anyone used ILLiad in
this capacity? I do want to respect the privacy of the patron borrowing
material on ILL.

Thank you for your help.

Lee
