[ILL-L] Customs form

When you are returning material to Canada, it is also important to
declare the following on the shipping manifest/waybill, in order to
avoid any unnecessary cross-border fees:
1. Declare: Canadian goods returning.
2. No Commercial Value or NCV; any value declared for insurance
purposes only. (in the case of our library anyway, as we do not charge
for loans).
3. Interlibrary loan
4. If you must use a courier service, choose the level of service that
includes brokerage fees. For UPS, it doesn't appear that choosing
"prepaid" covers all of the delivery fees, neither do ground shipments.
Also choose: shipper pays for all charges. The terminology will vary
depending on the courier service. E.G. in our experience, Fedex
shipments don't tend to generate any unnecessary cross-border fees as
these seem to be better incorporated into their service.
Hope this helps!

Subject: [ILL-L] Customs form
I need to ship to Canada. I have only done this once before and remember
there are certain things that need to go on the form so it won't be held
up in customs. Can anyone help refresh my memory?
Thanks, Kathy
