As I understand it, journals are much more expensive for institutions because they figure many people will be reading them, Ed.

Subject: [ILL-L] journal pricing

This is off topic, but does anyone have any information on why journals
are more expensive for institutions than individual subscriptions. Also
is it unethical for an individual to subscribe to a journal and then
give it to an institution.

Thanks for your help.

Tom
