I guess it could depend on whether they retained the copyright to their articles or whether their contracts gave those rights to the publishers.

Subject: [ILL-L] author and copyright limit
I have a few faculty who request ILL copies of articles that they wrote. They never had, or gave away, their only copy, etc.
None have reached the limit of 5/5 years yet, but I've wondered:
1. Does this count still count against the 5/5 for currsent 5 year articles?
2. If the faculty gave us written/emailpermission, could I exclude the request(s) fromour copyright count?
I hope this makes sense. We are paying a lot of CCC fees this year, and I'm looking at any way to reduce those expenditures.
