[ILL-L] I thought I'd heard everything!

Our associate minister bought some books via Amazon that had a library's
stamps on them- so this isn't unusual that they or their associates sell
them.

Something almost similar happened at our library several years ago.
A patron called the reference desk about some instructional tapes she
had picked up for $2.00 at a yard sale that had our library's property
stamp on them--turned out it was a set that was listed in our catalogue
as "Missing, assumed lost". She did bring them back.

And once I was at our local Salvation Library and found one of our books
there. It was still part of our holdings--it did not have a discard
stamp on it.

So I'm not entirely surprised.

and it still had our stamp and barcode! We had sent that out on ILL in
April and never got it back. The online bookseller said they buy all
their books - so who knows what happened. The person who borrowed it
sold it? The good news is the woman bought it volunteered to send it
back us; she is pursuing a refund from Amazon.
