[ILL-L] RE: Copyright vs. fair use

Hello all~

After several years away from ILL, it has come back within my purview.
It's so nice to be back in ILL, at least a bit, and on this list.

I realize that the copyright question has been resolved for this
situation.  However, I just wanted to put a little plug out there for
another option for copyright feedback: Copyright Advisory Network,
online at http://www.librarycopyright.net/.  There are some neat
resources linked there, but most importantly, there's a forum, where you
can post real situations like this and get responses from folks
specializing in copyright for libraries.  It's not legal advice, but can
be really practical and, I think, helpful.  I'm a bit biased, perhaps,
since I work with the Network, but I encourage anyone with copyright
issues to check it out.

In this case, purchasing the books might be best, but I think that,
depending on specific details which we didn't get here, you could
possibly make a strong argument for fair use.
